PHAGWARA: In a tragic and mysterious incident, a young man from Ratahra village, under the jurisdiction of Fattudhinga Police Station, was found dead under mysterious circumstances late last night. The deceased has been identified as Gagandeep Singh, son of Ajit Singh.
According to information provided by Dr. Ashish Pal Singh, who was on duty at the time, the youth was brought to the hospital in a critical condition with serious head injuries. Despite efforts, he was declared dead upon arrival.
Preliminary reports suggest that Gagandeep had gone to attend a village fair and was riding his motorcycle when the incident occurred. His body bore multiple injuries to the head, suggesting foul play or a serious accident. However, the exact cause of death remains unclear.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Paramjit Singh, who is investigating the case, stated that the body was recovered around 3 AM and was immediately taken into police custody. It was later placed in the mortuary of the local civil hospital for further examination.
Police sources confirmed that no eyewitnesses have come forward so far, and no conclusive evidence has been found at the scene. The family of the deceased informed the police that Gagandeep had left home to attend the fair and did not return. His body was discovered later, with injuries that raised concerns about possible violence or an accident.
