PHAGWARA: Phagwara police carried out a large-scale verification and checking campaign under the supervision of SP Phagwara Madhvi Sharma, aimed at strengthening law and order and enhancing public safety. As part of the operation, eight police parties were deployed and a major hotspot, AGI Flats, was intensively covered.
During the drive, a total of 260 persons were checked, while 120 identity and vehicle-related documents were thoroughly verified. Sixteen persons were rounded up for questioning, though no arrests have been made so far. No FIRs were registered during the operation. However, the police recovered five unverified cars, 12 motorcycles and 19 mobile phones, which are currently under verification. Senior police officials stated that such campaigns are being conducted regularly to deter criminal activity, identify suspicious elements and ensure a safe environment for residents. SP Madhvi Sharma emphasized that the police will continue proactive measures and strict vigilance across the subdivision to maintain peace and uphold the rule of law.
