PHAGWARA: A land dispute in Khurampur village near Phagwara has escalated into a police case after alleged acts of vandalism and threats. Simranjeet Singh Gill, owner of Gilson Construction Company, had reportedly entered into an agreement to purchase 4 kanal 11 marla of land from one Pakhar Singh, for which an advance payment of ₹15 lakh was made.

According to the agreement, the property registration was scheduled for May 21, 2025. However, Pakhar Singh allegedly failed to appear at the tehsil office on the appointed date. In the meantime, Simranjeet Singh had constructed a boundary wall around the disputed land.

On June 12, Pakhar Singh’s relatives—identified as Kuldeep Singh and Tarsem Singh—allegedly arrived at the site with several other individuals. They are accused of breaking the iron angles of the boundary wall. When confronted, they reportedly used abusive language and issued threats, demanding the land be vacated.

Following a formal complaint by Simranjeet Singh, Sadar Police Station, Phagwara, has registered a case against the two accused. Kuldeep Singh is a resident of Palli Jhikki village, while Tarsem Singh hails from Naura village in Nawanshahr district.

Police said the matter is under investigation, and appropriate legal action will follow based on the findings.
