PHAGWARA: Demonstrating a strong commitment towards public service and effective use of modern technology, District Kapurthala Police have successfully recovered more than 250 mobile phones that were reported lost, stolen or snatched by residents of the district. The recovered mobile phones, having an estimated total value of around ₹56 lakh, were returned to their rightful owners after thorough verification.
This major recovery was carried out under the overall directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Kapurthala, Gaurav Toora, IPS. The operation was supervised by Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Kapurthala Gurpreet Singh, PPS, Superintendent of Police Phagwara Madhvi Sharma, PPS, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Daljit Singh, with the Cyber Crime Police Station, Kapurthala, playing a pivotal role. The dedicated efforts of the Cyber Crime team, in coordination with various police units, led to the successful tracing and recovery of the missing devices.
During the investigation, the police utilized technical surveillance and data analysis to track the mobile phones. As a result, nearly 250 mobile phones were recovered from different locations not only within Punjab but also from several other states. Providing details, SSP Shri Gaurav Toora informed that mobile phones were traced and recovered from Bihar (4), West Bengal (3), Uttar Pradesh (6), Delhi (5), Haryana (8), Rajasthan (5) and Himachal Pradesh (2), reflecting the wide geographical spread of the operation and the effectiveness of inter-state coordination.
