Jalandhar police solved case of Bank decoity and murder of guard in village Kalran

ADAMPUR: In a significant success the Jalandhar Police(Rural) headed by SSP(R) Sandeep Garg traced the case of bank dacoity and the murder of the bank guard in UCO Bank branch in Village Kalran near Adampur on October 15.

This was claimed by Senior Superintendent of the Police (Investigation) Manpreet Singh Dhillon while talking to media-persons here on Monday.

Dhillon said the main accused identified as Surjit Singh @ Jeeta resident of Village Adambal PS Sadar Hoshiarpur has been arrested and the police have recovered cash of Rs 29, 400/- and an Activa Scooter from his possession. The accused has confessed his involvement in looting the cash of  Rs 5.97 Lac from the bank and killing of the bank guard. S.P. Dhillon said that the arrested accused has confessed his involvements in looting Rs 10.80 Lac from Indian Overseas Bank in Village Gilchian near Tanda, and looting of Rs 5.69Lac from the branch of Punjab & Sind Bank in Village Ghagial in District Hoshiarpur during last few days.

SP Dhillon said his other accomplices including Gurwinder Singh Ginda, Sukhwinder Singh @ Sukha, are still at large who could be arrested soon. Several more disclosures are expected during further interrogation, said SP Dhillon.
