NURMAHAL:The Nurmahal police on Monday busted a gang of cheaters and arrested its four members.The Station House Officer(SHO) G.S, Nagra said that the accused have been identified as Nita alias Rajni Mahant a resident of Shejada Nagar Gurdass Pur, Jagdish Kumar a resident of Nawan Pind Jattan in Nakodar, his wife Kiran and Sahil a resident of Mehsam Pur village in Nakodar .
Jagat Mohan Sharma a resident of Mohalla, Subash Park , Nurmahal complained to the police that the accused purchased clothes from his shop twice in the months of March and paid Rs 50000 though cheque of Union Bank Branch Mehat Pur which proved fake and thus cheated him, He said in his complaint that the accused cheated many other shop keepers of Nurmahal and Nakodar
SHO said that some cloths and a golden ornament was recovered from their possession and a case under sections 420(cheating) and 120-B(criminal conspiracy) has been registered against the accused and their accomplice Kala son of Buta Ram a resident of Bir Pind village in Nakodar adding that assistant sub inspector Paramjit Singh is investigating further.
