PHAGWARA: In a disturbing incident stemming from an alleged ongoing property dispute, five villagers including three women have been booked under 323, 452, 354, 503, 34 IPC for forcibly entering a private residence and allegedly assaulting a woman in her house in Khalwara village near Phagwara.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, she was residing in a private haveli , the accused—identified as Manu, Sunita Rani, Jaswinder Kumar, Pawan Kumar and Paramjit Kaur (residents of same village Khalwara), illegally entered in the Haveli(Farm House).
she was in her garden harvesting vegetables when the accused allegedly opened the main gate and forcefully entered the walled compound.
Once inside, the complainant alleges that the women began to physically assault her without provocation. She further claimed that her clothes were torn during the attack, leaving her partially unclothed, and that one of the accused recorded video footage and took photographs during the ordeal.
An FIR has been registered at the relevant police station under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt or assault), 354 (outraging a woman’s modesty), 503 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (acts done by several persons with a common intention).
