NAKODAR: Nakodar, December 29: Acting on the findings of an official inquiry ordered by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural), the Mehatpur Police have registered a criminal case involving allegations of conspiracy, cheating, and forgery against four individuals. The FIR has been lodged under Sections 120-B, 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code at Police Station Mehatpur.
According to police sources, the case originates from an application bearing No. 461-PTOO dated May 27, 2025, filed by Manjit Singh, a resident of village Shah Salyampur, Mehatpur. The complainant alleged that the accused persons prepared forged documents and used fake seals and stamps to manipulate official records, leading to the fraudulent registration of a substituted property entry in his absence.
The accused have been identified as Jaswinder Singh Gill, resident of Mohalla Shah Salyampur, Mehatpur; Hari Ram, resident of Mohalla Shadi Kha, Mehatpur; Raman Kumar, a typist associated with Raman Computer Typing Centre, Mehatpur; and Sarbjot Singh, Technical Assistant at the Sub-Tehsil office, Mehatpur. Police officials stated that the alleged acts point towards a well-planned criminal conspiracy involving misuse of official procedures and forged documentation.
Following receipt of the inquiry report through official channels, the Mehatpur Police registered FIR No. 263 dated December 28, 2025. While investigations are currently underway, police confirmed that arrests are yet to be made in the case. Authorities have assured that all aspects of the allegations will be thoroughly examined and strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty.
