Case Registered Over Alleged Land Fraud and Criminal Conspiracy in Mehatpur

NAKODAR: A case of alleged fraud and criminal conspiracy involving land transactions has been registered at Mehatpur Police Station following a complaint by a local resident. The complainant, Rajinder Prasad, reported that he was deceived in a property matter involving agricultural land and a shop, leading to significant financial and ownership disputes.

According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Varinder Kumar Sekhri and Dheeraj Kumar, allegedly carried out property registrations using power of attorney without the knowledge or consent of the complainant, who is stated to be the original owner. It is alleged that the transactions were executed without payment and involved misrepresentation, resulting in a breach of trust and financial loss.

The case was registered after an inquiry report was received by the district police authorities, following which an FIR was lodged under sections 316(2), 318(4), and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with provisions related to cheating, criminal breach of trust, and conspiracy. Police officials stated that raids are being conducted to apprehend the accused, and further investigation is underway to establish the full extent of the alleged fraud.
