JALANDHAR: Jalandhar- Calling the awarding of life sentence to sacked IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt on alleged concocted charges as travesty of justice, the Dal Khalsa on Thrusday slammed the Indian justice system.

The Jamnagar session court has awarded life sentence to former IPS officer in a 1990 custodial death case. Notably, Bhatt, who was a 1988 batch officer of Gujarat cadre, was suspended and subsequently dismissed from the service after he pointed a finger towards Narendra Modi for his govt’s complicity in Gujarat 2002 pogrom.

Dal Khalsa secretary for human rights Prithpal Singh and spokesperson KANWAR Pal Singh said regrettably Bhatt has paid the price for exposing the then Gujarat CM and now Indian PM Narendra Modi for engineering the anti-Muslim carnage in 2002. They said the conviction has exposed the revengeful character of the ( Indian) state.

"Sanjiv Bhatt, who following his conscience, had dared to expose Modi's criminal deeds in the apex court, has been hounded for his forthrightness. It is time for all democratic forces to speak against alleged judicial injustice heaped on Bhatt.
