CHANDIGARH: Sukhmani Brar, an emerging voice in contemporary Indian poetry,  launched her third poetry collection, Cloud of Sorrow: A Rain of Longing, at a special event held at the ICSSR Seminar Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

The book was launched by Panjab University Chandigarh Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig, Special DGP Punjab A.S. Rai, Prof. Sushil Kumar, Dr. Ravinder Kaur and Prof. Pushpinder Syal.

A native of Bhagsar, Sri Muktsar Sahib, and an alumna of Convent of Jesus and Mary, Waverley, Mussoorie, Sukhmani is currently pursuing her final year of English (Hons.) at MCM DAV College, Chandigarh. Her new book follows the success of her two earlier poetry collections, continuing her signature exploration of love, loss, longing, and silent emotions through lyrical, rain-soaked imagery.

Speaking at the event, Sukhmani described her work as “an offering for those who feel everything—silently, ” capturing moments of deep emotional truth that resonate universally.
