CHANDIGARH: A Felicitation and Appreciation Ceremony for Nikshay Mitras was organized at Government Hospital, Chandigarh, to acknowledge the remarkable contributions of organizations and individuals supporting the TBMuktBharat initiative. The event was graced by Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Chandigarh, who appreciated the efforts of various partners in their mission to eliminate tuberculosis and support TB patients towards recovery and self-reliance.
During the ceremony, Mr. Paramjit Singh, Director, Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED), along with Mr. Vijay Arora, General Manager, RCED, received special recognition and an appreciation award from the Governor for their outstanding contribution as Nikshay Mitras.
RCED has played a pivotal role in training TB patient beneficiaries under various skill development programs and providing them with gainful wage employment opportunities, thereby helping them rebuild their confidence and livelihood. This initiative aligns with the vision of TBMuktBharat, empowering patients not just medically but also economically. The Governor also distributed food baskets to patients during the ceremony and encouraged everyone to come forward and become NikshayMitra, joining hands in building a healthier and TB-free India.
RCED continues to stand committed to the cause of inclusive development, ensuring that every individual—regardless of health or background—gets an opportunity to lead a dignified and self-reliant life.
