Chandigarh Police registers criminal case against son of former Dy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Police today registered a criminalo case against Udaiveer Singh Randhawa son of former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa who is also incharge of Congress in Rajasthan.

The case was registered on the complaint of Nirvir Singh Gill a student of Panjab University Chandigarh after matter came in the media. Udayveer Singh allegedly created rukus in a five star hotel in Sector 17 Chandigarh and attacked Gill who got injured. 

Police has late night registered a cross case against Udayveer Singh and Gill under sections 341, 323 and 506 of IPC in Sector 17 police station.

Gill while addressing media in Press Club today said that he and three of his friends went for dinner in the hotel when Udayveer Singh was present there with family and securitymen. Gill alleged that Udayveer atacked him in the bathroom and then his family members beat him up. He alleged that security personnel of Randhawa forced him at gun point to sit in the car. Gill was later taken to sector 22 hospital by police for first aid.

Meet a friend of Gill said that both had old enemity and they quarlled many times in the past. Gill alleged that Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa also reached Sector 17 police station where he was lodged. Randhawa allegedly influenced police not to register a case. The police registered the case after negitiations to settle the matter failed.
