Chandigarh MC poll; Cong candidate daughter complains to EC against BSP candidate

CHANDIGARH: Katyayni Dwevedi the daughter of congress candidate from ward no 18, Saroj Sharma on Thursday has filed a complaint to State Election Commission over non-disclosure of pending criminal cases in the affidavit filed by BSP candidates Rajinder Kaur from ward no 18 in upcoming MC poll.

In her complaint, Katyayni stated that at the time of filling of nomination papers, each and every candidate has to submit his or her particulars with respect to any pending criminal cases against them before any competent court within India.

It is brought to your EC knowledge that the above mentioned candidate has submitted a false affidavit before the election commission wherein she has stated that no criminal cases are pending against her.

However, as per information, the BSP candidate is facing criminal cases under IPC and Negotiable Instruments Act which she has deliberately concealed in her affidavit, said complaint.

In the complaint the EC has been requested to look into the matter and take appropriate legal action against BSP Candidate at the earliest and intimate the action taken
