Week long Youth Festival concludes at Veterinary Varsity

LUDHIANA: Week long inter-college youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana concluded with a note of gaiety. S. Harpal Singh Cheema, Finance Minister, Government of Punjab was the Chief Guest on this eve. He praised the dedication and performance of students in events.

He mentioned that students are the future of our nation and Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University plays a pivotal role in encouraging them to serve the society. S. Mandeep Singh Sidhu, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana and Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University were the guests of honour.

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor presided over the function. He said that these festivals are important for up-liftment of the personality of the students and congratulated the officers of the university for successful conduct of the youth festival.

Inter college youth festival started on 06 November 2023 was successfully organized under the able guidance of Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, DSW cum EO. Dr. Ghuman thanked the Vice-Chancellor, faculty as well as students of the University for their support for this festival.

Dr. A.P.S. Brar organizing secretary said that competitions in 25 events were held with active participation of more than 200 students. Four in Campus colleges, College of Fisheries, College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy Science and Technology and College of Animal Biotechnology participated along with College of Veterinary Science Rampura Phul, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani, Bathinda and Khalsa College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Amritsar. Students showcase their talent in different fields like Fine Arts, Theatre, Singing, Dances and Literary events. Sh. Manmohan Waris renowned Punjabi folk singer mesmerized the audience with his melodious voice, and entertained the audience with Punjabi songs.

During the prize distribution ceremony, S. Harpal Singh Cheema, Dr. Inderjeet Singh and other dignitaries distributed the prizes to the students. Best male and female actors were awarded with the Gold medals and cash award in the name of Dr. Darshan Bari, a noted Punjabi actor and Kabaddi commentator.
