CHANDIGARH: University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised an Alumni Honour Ceremony to felicitate its distinguished alumnus Mr. Tejeshwar Singh (MBA Banking and Insurance, 2011–13 batch) for his notable achievements and for being recognised as one of the first turbaned Sikh models to break barriers in the Indian fashion industry, including walking at Lakmé Fashion Week.
The alumnus was formally honoured by PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig, Dean of Alumni Relations, Prof. Latika Sharma, and Director, UIAMS, Prof. Anupreet Kaur Mavi, at VC Committee Room, Panjab University followed by an interaction session with students at UIAMS, Panjab University. The interaction session was also graced by Mr. Gaurav Veer Singh Sohal, President, Panjab University Campus Students’ Council (PUCSC).
Prof. Anupreet Kaur Mavi, Director, UIAMS, in her brief welcome address, highlighted the importance of alumni as ambassadors of the institution and expressed pride in Mr. Tejeshwar Singh’s achievements.
PU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig, congratulated Mr. Tejeshwar Singh and said that alumni success stories reflect the quality of education and values imparted by the University. She encouraged students to pursue their passions with discipline and commitment while upholding the ethos of Panjab University.
