Two days Freshmen induction program organised at GNDU

AMRITSAR: The Department of Hotel Management and Tourism of the Guru Nanak Dev University organised a two days Freshmen induction program here today for their newly admitted students. In this event the students of BHMCT (Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology) and BTTM (Bachelor of Tourism and Travel management) participated.

Professor Hardeep Singh, Dean Academic Affairs of the University presided over while , Mr.Shashank Goel, Director Food and Beverages Marriot by courtyard, Amritsar was guest speaker. Professor Mandeep Kaur, head of department welcomed the guests and students and others. Afterwards, the session was preceded with the inspiring thoughts by Professor Hardeep Singh. He recommended students to update their skills on regular basis to face the challenges in their academic and industrial journey. He said that the value of Indian culture and heritage is very rich which needed to be preserved and propagated by our youth. . He said that Amritsar is the vital destination from Tourism and Hospitality prospective and the students who opted these courses have wide scope.

The Chief guest also planted sapling in the premises of the department to promote the green revolution along with all the faculty members and students.

Mr. Shashank Goel discussed the historical background of Marriott group of Hotels. He also emphasized on the relationship that exist between Tourism and Hotel sectors. He shared his experience to motivate the students in order to achieve highest milestones in their life.
