MANDI GOBINDGARH: On the occasion of National current Good Manufacturing Practice Day celebration Placebo Club, School of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh organized an online guest lecture. Dr Puja Gulati, Principal, School of Pharmacy welcomed Subh Naman, Assistant Professor, ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh as the guest speaker of the event.
Subh Naman focused on the importance of current Good Manufacturing Practice. Quality by design, risk management and assessment, critical process parameters, critical quality attributes, and critical quality management were well explained by the speaker. He also spoke about mini tab and optimization techniques.
He said Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP, also referred to as 'cGMP' or 'current Good Manufacturing Practice') is the aspect of quality assurance that ensures that medicinal products are consistently produced and controlled to the quality standards appropriate to their intended use and as required by the product specification.
GMP defines quality measures for both production and quality control and defines general measures to ensure that processes necessary for production and testing are clearly defined, validated, reviewed, and documented, and that the personnel, premises and materials are suitable for the production of pharmaceuticals and vaccines.
Dr Puja Gulati, Principal, School of Pharmacy, said that all the faculty members and students of the School of Pharmacy learnt a lot from this lecture. Moreover students were made aware about current Good Manufacturing Practice and its importance in the pharmaceutical industry.
