RBU plays host to intl artists at `ArtEco’

MOHALI: In a celebration of artistic collaboration and cultural exchange, 15 foreign and Indian artists converged at Rayat Bahra University to showcase "ArtEco", an international socio-cultural art project, in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. This three-day endeavour, comprising painting workshops at Sukhna Lake and Rose Garden, was a testament to the power of art in promoting Indian culture and heritage on the global stage.

As a highlight of the project these talented artists gave live demonstrations of their work. "ArtEco" stands as a unique cultural celebration, featuring the participation of Russian artists, underscoring the event's global appeal.

The distinguished roster of artists includes six accomplished artists from Russia: Irina Baranova, Bautina Anastasiia, Pushkareva Nikol, Galakhova Milana, Olga Levchenko, and Aksentiev Sergey. Hailing from India are notable artists such as Yunus Khimani, Pankaj Kumar, Ghazal Pratap, Vineet Mehra and Sunil Kapoor.

Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University, expressed interest in plans to conduct more such exercises at historical monuments in the years to come for the benefit of students.

Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University, extended his best wishes to the artists for their dedication to both art and environmental preservation and heritage conservation.

Shryansy Singh Manu, Managing Director of Shryansy International Art and Culture Organisation, said that "ArtEco" serves not only as a platform for artistic expression but also as a catalyst for cultural exchange and expressed the project's mission to sensitize students and youth about India's rich cultural heritage and art.

On the last day of the workshop, the artists visited the Rayat Bahra Art and Culture Museum. Pankaj Kumar, visual artist and the local coordinator of the event, said that "ArtEco" has the potential to become a landmark cultural event in the region, drawing art enthusiasts and connoisseurs from all walks of life.
