MOHALI: A delegation of Nursing Training Institute Association Punjab under the leadership of President, Nursing Association, S. Gurdayal Singh Buttar met President, Indian Nursing Council, Sh. T Dileep Kumar & urged to permit direct admission of students in various nursing courses.
While giving this information to media Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) & Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh said that the delegation demanded to permit direct admission to students in Punjab as thousands of students could not appear in Punjab Paramedical Entrance Test (PPMET) conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
He added said that across Punjab State there are 7108 seats in ANM, 12065 Seats in GNM, 5320 in B. Sc. Nursing, 3130 in Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing & 639 seats in Msc. Nursing. Different states including Punjab Himachal, Haryana, Manipur have faced worse ever situation in last 3 months. Due to the situation of floods in Punjab around 40% of the students were deprived of giving the entrance test of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. Because of this many students could not apply for the entrance test & which can ruin their precious year and may put their career on stake. Keeping this point in mind, the direct admission should be permitted, Kataria mentionmed.
