Post Covid Times have Brought New Challenges for Nursing Profession: VC

AMRITSAR: The post-Covid times have brought new challenges for the nursing profession and accordingly the education and training must change. This was stated by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Sood while delivering his convocational address at Khalsa College of Nursing here today.
He said while congratulating the students who were bestowed with the degrees at the annual Convocation of the College that new challenges need changes in framing syllabi and training modules.
The ceremony started by seeking the blessings of almighy with lighting of the lamp and Shabad recitation. Principal Dr. Amanpreet Kaur, emphasized upon the quality education and spiritual way for the true meaning of life. She read the progess report of the college, citing the achievements of the students in academic, cultural activities and sports.
Khalsa College Governing Council honourray Secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina who presided over the function said nurses were the most vital component of the medical services. He added that today’s ceremony was a part of academic event of International Nurses Day which we had celebrated throughout the week in the form of various competitions.
He also accentuated that all must keep learning and growing as this is a never ending process. He congratulated students for unshering new life after obtaining the degrees.
Dr. Sood earlier also said that the heights are achieved by getting the right kind of education and adopting a positive way of life. He also emphasized the need to make students socially, spiritually, behaviourally good human who can compete Internationally. The speech was followed by prize distribution ceremony starting with distinction followed by degree distribution to graduates by all the dignitaries on dais. This was further followed by vote of thanks by Vice Principal, Dr. Neelam Hans, Khalsa College of Nursing, Amritsar and pledging by honor to our country by singing National Anthem. KCGC Vice President Swinder Singh Kathunangal, Joint Sceretary Ajmer Singh Heir, Lakhwinder Singh Dhillon and other senior faculty members were present.
