Panjab University organises 30-hour soft skills course to boost student employability

CHANDIGARH: The Central Placement Cell, in collaboration with the University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh, organised the valedictory session of its 30-hour value-added course titled “Career Catalyst: Mastering Soft Skills for the Modern Workplace.”

The programme has been conducted consistently for the past four years.

Mr Deepak Rana, Associate Regional Head, HDFC Life, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the students, he highlighted the critical role of soft skills in today’s competitive corporate environment. He emphasised that competencies such as effective communication, adaptability, emotional intelligence, teamwork and professional conduct are central to long-term career growth.

Prof Meena Sharma, Director, Central Placement Cell, said that the course aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.

Dr Ravneet Kaur, Associate Director, Central Placement Cell, appreciated the active participation of students and noted that the programme’s sustained success is a result of its structured design, industry relevance and strong student engagement.

Dr Tilak Raj, Associate Professor, University Business School, spoke on the importance of soft skills in leadership, teamwork and organisational culture, and congratulated the students on completing the programme.
