Panjab University NSS unit holds webinar on World Aids Day

CHANDIGARH: Panjab University National Service Scheme Unit, in collaboration with University School of Open Learning (USOL) & Institute of Social Sciences Education and Research (ISSER), conducted a webinar on World AIDS Day, 2021 based on the theme ‘End AIDS, END INEQUALITIES, END PANDEMIC’.

Prof. Ashwani Koul, NSS Programme Coordinator, Panjab University was patron for the event. The eminent speaker emphasized about AIDS and its spread. She discussed the symptoms, modes of transmission and marked that Prevention is the only cure for the disease. She gave importance to the regular health check ups. She also talked about the gender inequality. She urged to educate girls and make them aware regarding their health. She gave an immense knowledge regarding the AIDS and said we as a society must have sympathetic behaviour towards the Aids patients. Master Sushant Arora, Student coordinator for the event presented the votes of thanks and then the names of the winners for the Poster Making competition were announced.

This event was very successful and everyone added something to their knowledge bank regarding AIDS.
