Over 750 attend Job Fair at Rayat Bahra Univ

MOHALI: Under the flagship programme of the Punjab government's 'Ghar Ghar Rozgar Mission', 7th Mega Job Fairs progress started with the third Job Fair organised at the Rayat Bahra University. Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh was the Chief Guest at the fair. Prof BS Satyal, Registrar, also attended the fair. More than 750 candidates attended the Job Fair.

While addressing the candidates, the VC urged youth to take maximum benefit from these Job Fairs being organised by the Punjab government and Mohali district administration and stand on their own feet after getting employment.

Providing detailed information about the Job Fairs, Deputy Director, Meenakshi Goyal, said that apart from other companies, prominent employers like Reliance, HDFC, Tata AIG, Puma Source, Kotak Mahindra, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Pukhraj, Zomato, HCL, etc. participated in this Job Fair and provided jobs to 516, Selected for Skill Training 41 and self-employment 52 candidates. Amit Singh, Director, Corporate Relations, Rayat Bahra University made arrangements for the fair and in the mobilization of students and candidates. GoG's and VLE's played an important role for the mobilisation of students for making the event of Job Fair successful.

During the event/exhibition, Punjab government departments running schemes for self-employment were also organised. Departments motivated the participating candidates with displays of literature and brochures regarding the schemes run by their departments.

Deputy CEO Manjesh Sharma, Employment Officer Harpreet Sidhu were also present along with other officers.
