CHANDIGARH: Mr.& Miss Rose Competition, curated by Prof. Prabhdip Brar, Chairperson, University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development was held in the evening on the first day of the 13th Panjab University Rose Festival. Manavjeet was crowned Mr. Rose & Shrutika was crowned Miss Rose. The results of flower competition were also declared. CSIO won maximum number of first prizes followed by SGGS College, Sector-26, Chandigarh and IMTECH. Other prominent winners were Chandigarh Housing Board and ChotteLal Plantations.
Rangoli and Painting Competitions were held on the second day of the festival, which saw huge participation. In Rangoli competition, Himanshi, Muskan & Sunaina were winners in age group 5 to 11 years, Kriti Pahuja,
Srishti Sharma & Harsimran Singh were winners in age group 12 to 18 years and Shivani Singh in age group 19 years & above.
In Painting competition, Gurnoor Kaur was winner in age group 5 to 9 years, Annvi was winner in age group 10 to 15 years and Riya in age group 16 years & above.
During the evening on second day, Parwaz Rock Band Performance & performance by Bhav Sidhu was held at Old Convocation Ground. The performances were enjoyed by a large audience.
On third day, competitions of Rose Prince & Rose Princess and Fancy Dress will be organized. Shiv Kawad Sangh and Manav Kalyan Parisar, an NGO running charitable labs, will organise a blood donation camp on the third day of the festival. During the evening on third day, Performance by Punjabi Singer RazaHeer will be held at Old Convocation Ground.
