GJIMT honored 100 empowering women of Tri-city in leadership roles on International Women's Day

MOHALI: Gian Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology Commemorated International Women’s Day, to celebrate the achievements of more 100 remarkable women educationists from various educational institutions of the region, at its annual event. Roopnagar Deputy Commissioner Pooja S Grewal was the Chief Guest on this occasion.

“Sodashi – A Celebration of Womanhood”.Sodashi, meaning purity in Sanskrit, symbolized the essence of womanhood - strength, resilience, and grace. This event was committed to recognizing and celebrating women, both within the educational community and beyond.

Deputy Commissioner Pooja S Grewal said in her address that it is a matter of pride that Gyan Jyoti Group has honored the women who have contributed in the field of education on International Women's Day. If every day is celebrated as Women's Day, then the daily increasing incidents of rape and exploitation of women would have stopped. Addressing the students, she said that they are not only the future of the country but are capable of bringing a big change and the new generation will have to come forward to give a new thought to the world. In which the equality of women is an important issue. He further said that of course, with time, women have become aware of their rights, but still there is a lot to be done for the equality of women in Indian society. Along with this, information about the rights of women was given.

Meanwhile, seminars on women empowerment, poster making, and rangoli-making competitions were also conducted in the campus. Dr. Aneet Bedi, GJIMT, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the active participation and enthusiastic engagement of everyone involved, which contributed significantly to the success of the event. While informing the students about the history of International Women's Day, Dr. Bedi shared information on women's rights, current changes in society, the changing positive thinking of the young generation towards women, and education among women.
