MANDI GOBINDGARH: Desh Bhagat University organized an expert talk on career opportunities in the Armed Forces. Speaking on the occasion, Capt Rajesh Sharma, Commanding Officer (CO), 3 Punjab Air Squadron NCC at Patiala, while discussing the benefits of joining NCC and its scope in the Armed Forces said that students are encouraged to join NCC at school and college level and suggested to opt for Air Wing.
He said that NCC brings discipline and dedication towards the society and the nation apart from courage and self-confidence. Any student who opts for the National Cadet Corps at the A, B or C certificate level can achieve a different fulfillment of life.
He said that cadets can serve the society and motherland through social services by participating in various camps. He encouraged the students to opt for Defense Services and said that any candidate having C certificate of NCC gets relaxation in the written examination of Services Selection Board.
Taranveer Singh, Caretaker Officer of NCC Air Wing 3 PB Air Squadron, Patiala at Desh Bhagat University and C Certificate holder, also shared his experiences with the cadets training in NCC. He said that apart from working with the cadets it is extremely satisfying to prepare them for drills, parades, aero modelling, flying and participating in various NCC activities.
The students participated with great enthusiasm on this occasion.
Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, said that NCC not only grooms students but also makes them disciplined and patriotic citizens. NCC provides a base to Army, Navy and Air Force.
