Entrepreneurship Development Program at Government Home Science College, Sector 10, Chandigarh.

CHANDIGARH: On behalf of Directorate of Industries, Chandigarh, Sachtek Educational Society in collaboration with Govt. Home Science College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, organized a three-days Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) for the final year students of the college.

Above 90 candidates have participated in this EDP. The primary aim of this program was to equip students with invaluable insights into the dynamic landscape of entrepreneurship, unveiling exciting avenues for growth and innovation. The event commenced with a warm reception and program overview by the college coordinators. Mr. Paramjit Singh, the Chairman, led the session, imparting a vast knowledge and expertise on entrepreneurship, covering an extensive range of essential
topics for aspiring business leaders.

Further enriching the program, Mr. Satwinder Singh from Sachtek Educational Society elaborated on the MSME initiatives and various associated schemes, providing attendees with practical tools and resources. The renowned entrepreneur Mr. Harjinder Singh Cheema, Chairman of Cheema Boilers Ltd., shared his profound insights and experiences, shedding light on the multifaceted aspects of entrepreneurship.

At the Valedictory function of the program Mr. Paramjit Singh suggested the candidates to set up their venture, become their own masters and avail facilities/incentives available for setting up MSME by Government of India and Chandigarh Administration. Under different schemes girls can get the subsidy to the extent of 25 per cent to 35 per cent of the total cost of the project from the Department of Industries. Certificates to all 90 candidates were distributed by Mr. H.S Cheema, Mr. Paramjit Singh, Mr. Durga Das (Superintendent-DIC, Chandigarh), Mr. Davinder Singh (Senior Assistant-DIC,
Chandigarh) and Mr. Anil Kumar (Section Officer-DIC, Chandigarh).

Dr. Sudha Katyal, Principal of Govt. Home Science college expressed heartfelt gratitude to Directorate of Industries, UT Chandigarh and Sachtek Educational Society for organizing such a valuable endeavor.

Emphasizing the importance of continuous skill development, she expressed confidence that the knowledge gained would significantly benefit participants in both their academic pursuits and future professional endeavors. Special recognition was extended to Prof. Shabana Bhateja for her exceptional role in facilitating and coordinating these enlightening sessions.
