AMRITSAR: In a significant move towards enhancing entrepreneurial initiatives, online studies and student placements, Vice Chancellor Dr. Karamjeet Singh convened a strategic meeting with all Heads of Teaching Departments at the Senate Hall of Guru Nanak Dev University. Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh welcomed the attendees on this occasion. Keeping in view, University started 53 New Job oriented under graduate, Certificate & Diploma courses through Open Distance Learning.
This important session was centered on nurturing entrepreneurship among students and strengthening the university's commitment to career outcomes. Dr. Karamjeet Singh highlighted the critical importance of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in students, with the ultimate goal of transforming them from job seekers into job creators. He emphasized the need for academic departments to integrate entrepreneurship into their curricula effectively and to cultivate an innovation-driven environment across the campus.
Key objectives discussed during the meeting included: Strengthening Placement and Career Outcomes: Enhancing collaboration among departments to develop more impactful and cohesive career services for students. Enhancing Alumni and Industry Linkages: Utilizing alumni networks and fostering strong industry partnerships to improve student preparedness, mentoring, and job opportunities. Departmental Ownership in Career Development: Encouraging departments to take proactive responsibility in supporting students' professional journeys and enhancing career readiness.
