Haryana Power engineers to take mass casual leave

KURUKSHETRA: Haryana Power Engineers Association today decided to take mass casual leave and to hold protest rally at Panchkula on November 23 in support of their demands.

The executive committee meeting was held today at Kurukshetra and was attended by all the Executive members, zonal Presidents and Zonal secretaries to review the arrangements for the Panchkula rally. The meeting was addressed by K D Bansal President, KK Malik General Secretary and other office bearers.

K D Bansal President said that the Nigam managements have not solved even single problem despite giving verbal as well as written assurances every time. The pending issues of engineers are anomaly in pay scales of assistant engineers, restructuring of Discoms and penalization of officers by not deciding the disciplinary cases for more than one year. The three year old issue of alleged pillar box scam is still pending even after completion of three enquiries conducted by the department.

KK Malik General Secretary said  that show cause notices to the office bearers of Association has been issued on flimsy ground for highlighting the grievances of field engineers who were manhandled by the public during power theft checking.

The engineers have held more than a dozen protest gate meetings throughout Haryana at every circle against the management failure to resolve their pending issues.

HPEA further decided that In case management fail to resolve the issues including withdrawal of show cause notices which has been issued with malafide intentions, protest rally  by the engineers  will be held on November 23.
