Bhagwant Mann's 13-0 means, 13 males, and Zero female candidates: Arshpreet Khadial

CHANDIGARH: Senior Punjab Congress Spokesperson, Adv. Arshpreet Singh Khadial held a press conference today at Congress Bhawan Chandigarh.

Talking to the media, Khadial said – “The party that had promised women empowerment couldn’t give a single ticket to women in the Punjab Lok Sabha elections. This isn’t the only example of their anti-women mindset, even in the Rajya sabha seats (Punjab) AAP Punjab didn’t send a single woman to the Parliament.”

He further added – “Why doesn’t AAP send women spokespersons for debates to represent their party on TV. To defend the party and to put forth the party’s stance. Why is it only male spokespersons? Why cannot AAP entrust women with these responsibilities? Promises of the Aam Aadmi Party have always remained unfulfilled in Punjab. The AAP government had promised 1k to women above 18 years per month. It’s been more than 2 years since the formation of the government, however they haven’t touched upon their promise or should we call their guarantee in this long span of time.”

The PCC Spokesperson also said – “When Mr. Mann says give me 13 arms. Why can’t there be a woman candidate in AAP’s candidate list? Because a woman’s arm is much better equipped to understand the burden of other women and how to do away with that burden that women face at their workplace, colleges etc. If women wouldn’t be given tickets, they won’t win and won’t definitely make it to the parliament which means their grievances will go unheard and unaddressed.”

He concluded by saying – “These actions of the AAP Punjab government have exposed them, and now they better brace themselves for the befitting reply that women await to give them in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections for having ignored them. Congress is the only party providing equal representation to all. Our manifesto, a positive manifesto created for the people, is one which answers the problems of the entire nation.”
