SEOUL: North Korea on Friday lambasted Japan for describing it as an "urgent threat" in this year's defence white paper, calling it "a war scenario" for aggression and accusing Tokyo of trying to cover up its own moves to become a "military giant."
The Institute for Japan Studies under North Korea's foreign ministry issued the criticism in a press statement carried by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) three days after Japan released this year's defence white paper.
