SANGRUR: The dreaded gangster Gurmeet Singh Mann alias Kala Dhanaula was today killed in an encounter with Punjab Police AGTF near Badbar toll plaza in this district. The AGTF IG Sandeep Goyal said that Kala Dhanaula was wanted in ore than 50 cases of murder and attempt to murder.
According to Sandeep Goyal, the gangster was hiding in a house when they got information and surrounded the house. Kakal fired at ther police team and he was killed in the return fire. Three accomplices of gangster were arrested and taken for interogation.
Kala Dhanaula had recently shot at Congress leader Surinder Bala and was absconding. He remained in jail for long time in a murder case.
Kala Dhanaula was close to manu Akali Dal leaders including Sukhbir Singh Badal, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and Simranjit Singh Mann. He remained active in politics but also continued his criminal activigties. He was once president of Nagar council Dhanaula. His mother was also president of the council. He was associated with SAD(Badal, Samyukt SAD(Dhindsa grouo) in the past and now he was member of SAD(Amritsar).
