Ramkumar wins singles title in Bahrain Challenger

CHANDIGARH: Sixth seeded Ramkumar Ramanathan of India defeated Evgeny Karlovskiy of Russia by 6-1 6-4 in the singles final of the $ 52, 080 Bahrain Ministry of Interior Tennis Challenger in Manama (Bahrain).
Ramkumar Ramnanathan was in total control of the game as he kept his first serve 72 percent (39/54) in and unleashed 14 aces while committing a lone double fault. His Russian rival served four aces and made one double fault. He kept his first seve 68 percent (38/56) in.
The Indian player from Chennai won 77 percent points (30/39) on his first seve and 60 percent (9/15) on second serve. . His Russian rival won 55 percent points (21/38) on first serve and 50 percent points (9/18) on second serve.
Ramkumar converted three of six breakpoints which came his way while Karlovskiy failed to convert the lone breakpoint against Ramkumar.
Ramkumar, ranked 222nd, won the first set, breaking Karlovskiy in the four and sixth games. In the second set Ramkumar got the vital break in the third game.
Ramkumar earned $ 7, 200 and 80 ATP points. Evgeny Karlovskiy got 48 ATP points and $ 4240 prize money.
