CHANDIGARH: Punjabi University won the gold medal in 4x400m relay in the All India Inter University Athletics Women's Championship being hosted by KIIT University , Bhubaneswar. The Punjabi Varsity quartet comprising Simranjit Kaur, Manisha Kushwaha, Simrandeep Kaur, Kiranjot Kaur and Tanveer Kaur took the first place with a time of 3: 46.72 seconds.
Punjabi University Vice Chancellor Prof. Arvind and Director Sports Dr. Gurdeep Kaur Randhawa congratulated the team for winning the gold medal.
The Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam consisting of Bismi Joseph, Riyamol Joy, Sneha K and Gowri Nandana bagged the silver medal with a timing of 3:47.41 second. The bronze medal went to the Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak (Priya, Nisha, Bhawana and Deepanshi) clocking 3:47.71 seconds.
