NEW DELHI: The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) has announced that they will be conducting another set of Online Education Workshops exclusively for the Hockey India Coaches, Umpires and Technical Officials in the month of December 2020, after having successfully organised similar workshops in July, August, September, October and November 2020. A group of 12-30 Coaches, Umpires and Technical Officials will be attending four AHF Online Education Workshops to be held this month, starting from Saturday, 5th December 2020.

After having attended these online education workshops over the past five months, participants have been able to gather technical expertise and knowledge on various aspects of attacking and defending dynamics for Coaches, and officiating for Technical Officials, and umpiring for Umpires. These online education workshops will be conducted free of cost for participating candidates online through Microsoft Teams application, each consisting of a three to four hours' session.

Dato Tayyab Ikram, Chief Executive, Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) and Chairman FIH Development and Education Committee commented on the occasion, "Our ambition here at the Asian Hockey Federation is to see more and more Coaches, Umpires and Technical Officials get to a high level in their respective workings related to Hockey. We believe that through these AHF Online Education Workshops in the last few months, and the ones coming up in December, we can further give them the opportunity to keep learning, improving and then executing their leanings on the pitch in the future."

With Umpiring on the rise in the country, National Umpire from Hockey Mizoram, Ms. Lalremruati Khiangte, said, "It is a fantastic opportunity for all of us to keep improving every month. With Hockey India and Asian Hockey Federation’s efforts, we are able to learn about various topics and match situations that matter the most when it comes to Umpiring. With these workshops, we have been able to develop a very good understanding of all the processes that are followed internationally and I am excited to keep gaining expertise and knowledge, and potentially grow in this field."

Commenting on the upcoming workshops, K. Hariharan, FIH Level '2' Certified Coach, said, "I really thank AHF and Hockey India for giving FIH Certified Coaches a chance to attend the AHF workshops. I learned a lot from the educators as well as from coaches of other countries and it gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge with the group as well. It will help me a lot to implement in our grassroots coaching. Definitely, it will also help me to give High-Performance coaching to our athletes. It gives me good relationships with the other coaches (to know about their hockey culture)."

Meanwhile, Lakhwinder Kaur, FIH Level '2' Certified Coach, added, "I would like to thank Hockey India and AHF for organising Online Webinars on various aspects of modern Hockey. Through these workshops, it is considered the best way to Improve and to give the up-gradations about modern Hockey skills. We are learning various technical and tactical features, which are helping us to implement world-class skills on a grass-root level. Even if I talk about my trainees, they all are looking very excited about new skills on a daily basis and a great improvement is being noticed in their daily activities. It can be seen that their interest in Hockey is increasing day by day."

Appreciating the efforts of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) in conducting these regular workshops, Mr. Gyanendro Ningombam, President, Hockey India said, "Over the course of the past five months, our Hockey India Coaches, Umpires and Technical Officials have had the opportunity to utilize their time well, and attain immense knowledge about their respective jobs roles on and off the field.
