Jeevan/Raja move into next round in France

CHANDIGARH: Fourth seeded Indian pair of Jeevan Nedunchechiyan and Purav Raja recorded straight sets 6-4, 7-5 verdict against French pair of Kyran Jacquet and Harold Mayor in the doubles first round match in the €66, 640 ATP Challenger Open Blot Rennes, France.

After breaking their rivals in the ninth game, Nedunchezhiyan/Raja won the point on the first serve of Nedunchezhiyan to hold the serve game. Nedunchezhiyan/ Raja won the first set 6-4.

The second set progressed with the serve till the 10th game (5-5). Nedunchezhiyan/Raja got the break in the 11th game by winning the point on the first serve of K. Jacquet to take a 6-5. The Indian pair retained the service game (12th) at love to write off the second set at 7-5.

India's Arjun Kadhe, s partnering Canadian Brayden of Canada eliminated the challenge of the Japanese duo of Toshihide and Kaito Uesugi 6-1, 7-6 (4)in another doubles first round fixture.
