AMRITSAR: The Guru Nanak Dev University won the North Zone Inter-University Hockey (Men) Championship 2021-22. The players of Guru Nanak Dev Univesity Hockey Team were full of celebration mood on this occasion. Punjabi University Patiala remained Runners-up and Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra got third position while Lovely University, Jalandhar remained Fourth in this competitions
The finals of North Zone Inter-University Hockey (Men) Championship 2021-22 were played today in the Guru Hargobind Hockey Astro Turf of Guru Nanak Dev University. The first match was played between the teams of Punjabi University, Patiala and Kurukshetra University. Punjabi University, Patiala won this close fighting match by 2-1 goals. In the second match, Guru Nanak Dev University won the one sided match by defeating Lovely University, Jalandhar with 4-0 goals.
Dr Sukhdev Singh, Director Sports and Dr Kanwar Mandeep Singh, Assistant Director Sports awarded the trophies to the winning Universities. Besides this, the players were also honored with the medals. Dr. Amandeep Singh, Associate Prof. SL Gurmeet Singh, Technical Official, Gurinder Singh Sanga, International Referee, Jagdev Singh Chahal, Incharge University Hockey Coach were also present at that moment.
Dr Sukhdev Singh, Director Sports extended a vote of thanks to all the participating Universities. He said that the Championship was concluded with great success and all the participant felt happy with the arrangements made for them.
