Four Indian wrestlers for Poland Open

CHANDIGARH: Four Indian wrestlers, including two women, are taking part in the Poland Open Ranking Wrestling Series to be conducted in Warsaw from June 8 to 13.

India have fielded Vinesh (53 kg) and Anshu Malik (57 kg) in the women's freestyle competitions. Ravi Kumar (61 kg) and Sumit (125 kg) will be wrestlers in freestyle in their respective categories.

Winner of Asian crown in 57 kg, 19-year old Anshu Malik will be taking part for a fourth time this season. It’ll be her first competition since winning the 57kg Asian title in April. Anshu qualified India for the Olympic Games after she reached the finals at the Asian Olympic Qualifier but dropped her bronze-medal match at the Pellicone and finished in fifth place.

Seventeen wrestlers are in the field in the 57 kg section, while Vinesh is among 12 competitors in the 53 kg section.

The organizers announced Ranking Series prize distribution (per weight):
First Place: 10, 000 CHF (Swiss Francs), second Place: 7, 000 CHF and third Place: 3, 000 CHF
