CHANDIGARH: Dhruv Negi of Uttarakhand surprised second seed Tanweer Ahmad of Bihar whom he beat by 21-10 21-10 in the boys under-17 pre-quarter-final of the the 1st Ashwani Gupta Memorial All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament-2022 at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex.
Dhruv Negi's next match will be to book a berth in the semi-final. To achieve this goal Dhruv will have to overcome Bharath Latheesh of Keaala who defeated Abhishek Kanapala of Telangana 21-10 17-21 21-9.
Top seed Sanskar Saraswat of Rajasthan and third seed Numair Shaik also moved into the quarter-final round. Sanskar Saraswat defeated Yashdeep Gogoi 21-14 21-13 and Numair Shaik prevailed over a fighting Rounak Chouhan 16-21 21-19 22-20,
