Bopanna and. Shapovalov lose in ATP Masters 1000 in Rome

CHANDIGARH:Rohan Bopanna of India and Denis Shapovalov of Canada los to Macus Daniell of New Zealand and Philipp Oswald (Austria)by 6-4, 6-4 in the doubles first round of the € 2, 563, 710 ATP Masters 1000 Internazionali BNL d’Italia at the Foro Italico in Rome. The match on courts number 4 lasted one hour and 11 minutes.
Rohan Bopanna committed his first double fault in the third game of the first set and with this breakpoint Daniell and Oswald took a 2-1 lead. In the fourth game, Bopanna and Shapovalov dominated and had advantage of three breakpoints but failed to capitalize these chances and their rivals bounced back to make it deuce before winning and leading 3-1.
Bopanna and Shapovalov won the point on the second serve of Shapovalov to narrow the set score to 2-3.
In the ninth game Bopanna and Shapovalov won the point on the first serve of Dennis. Shapovalov. However Daniell and Oswald led 5-4.
With four game and set points after leading 40-0, Oswald served his first ace, second for the team, to clinch the set at 6-4 in 38 minutes.
Daniell and Oswald broke Shapovalov in the fifth game of the second set to take a 3-2 lead and in the next game they increased their lead to 4-2 as they won the point on the first serve of Daniell. Bopanna and Shapovalov won the point on the first serve of Rohan Bopanna to narrow the score to 4-3.
Daniell and Oswald wrapped up the second set in the 10th game with Daniel serving. Facing three breakpoints as they trailed 15-40, Bopanna and Shapovalov saved one match point before their opponents won with Daniel serving
Bopanna and Shapovalov earned € 12, 000 and 10 ATP points.
