AMRITSAR: The trial to select the Punjab Junior & Senior Men Hockey Team to take in the for 12th Hockey India Junior & Senior Men National Hockey Championship will be held on March 19 at Jalandhar.According to Olympian Balwinder Singh Shammi, a member of Hockey Punjab’s Ad-Hoc Committee, duly appointed by Hockey India, the Apex body for hockey in India, after the suspension of Hockey Punjab that the 12th Hockey India Senior Men National Hockey Championship will be held at Bhopal (MP) from April 6 to 17. The trails to select the Punjab Hockey Team will be held on March 19 2022 at 11.00 am at Astroturf Hockey Ground, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. According to Olympian Balwinder Singh Shammi, a member of Hockey Punjab’s ad hoc committee appointed by Hockey India, India’s leading hockey organization after the suspension of Hockey Punjab, the 12th Hockey India National (Senior Men’s) Hockey Championship will be held from April 6 to 17 in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) and the 12th Hockey India National (Junior Men’s) Hockey Championship will be organised from May 18 to 29 at Kovilpatti (Tamil Nadu). The selection trial for the Punjab Junior & Senior Hockey Team will be held at PAP Astroturf Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar om March 19. The trials for junior and senior categories will be held at 9.00 am and 12.00 noon, respectively. The junior players, born after January 1, 2003 shall be eligible to participate in these trial, shammi added. Olympian Shammi further said that Harpreet Singh Mander, Balwinder Singh Shammi, Baljit Singh Dhillon, Gaganajit Singh (All Olympians) Jugraj Singh, Bikramjit Singh Kaka, Kanwalpreet Singh Chahal, Tejbir Singh Hundal, Swaranjit Singh and Amrik Singh Powar (All former International Players) have been appointed as a member of the selection committee.
