AMRITSAR: Hockey Punjab Ad-Hoc Committee named a 31-member probable list to select the Punjab Junior Women Hockey Team to participate in the 12th Hockey India National Junior Women's Hockey Championship starting from March 23 at Kokinanda (Andhra Pradesh).
According to Olympian Balwinder Singh Shammi, a member of Hockey Punjab's Ad-hoc committee, appointed by the Hockey India, the apex body for the hockey in India, after the suspension of Hockey Punjab, the trials to select the Punjab women hockey team held today at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar astroturf hockey ground. The selection committee comprising of Rajbir Kaur, Baldev Singh, Nirmal Singh, Yogita Bali and Ankita selected 31 probable namely Manpret Kaur, Sharanjit Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Amreen Hamid, Chewang Tamang, Vaishali Sharma, Amandeep Kaur, Sneha Sabharwal, Anjalai Pawar, Samandeep, Deepika, Palak, Sanjana, Sukhpreet Kaur, Khushi, Kiranpreet, Jashanpreet , Muskanpreet Kaur, Swena, Soma, Sukhveer Kaur, Mitali, Simerjeet, Dharma, Jaismeen, Rupinder, Sukhpreet, Mehakpreet, Rupinder, Gunjan and Divya to slect the Punjab junior Women hockey team.
Olympian Shammi further informed the coaching camp for the selected players will be held at Amritsar and concluding day of camp, final Punjab team will be selected.
