DHAKA: As a Bangladesh court is set to record the testimonies of the prosecution witnesses in a corruption case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family on Wednesday, her son Sajeeb Wazed came down heavily on the Muhammad Yunus-led interim government for orchestrating "fabricated" cases against them.

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau during its drive against corruption in the has registered a case against Avtar Singh, ASI (Local Rank), posted at city Police Station, Rampura, in Bathinda district and Rajdeep Singh, a Panchayat member from village Rampura, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its anti-corruption drive, has registered a corruption case against Harpreet Singh PCS, Assistant Labor Commissioner Hoshiarpur, and his office’s computer operator, Alka Sharma, for accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000. Accused Alka Sharma has been caught red-handed while she was accepting the bribe of 30,000 rupees and has been sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand by the local court. The other accused, Harpreet Singh PCS, is currently absconding.

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), in line with the zero-tolerance policy against corruption adopted by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has filed a corruption case against an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Baljinder Singh (No. 890/Mks) and Senior Constable Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi (No. 183/Mks), both posted at CIA staff Malout, Muktsar district, for demanding bribe from a drug trafficker. In this case Senior Constable Gurpreet Singh Gopi has been arrested and efforts are underway to arrest the second accused.
