Zoological Park will generate employment opportunities for 5000 local youths: HP Chief Minister

DHARAMSALA: Addressing a gathering at Haripur in Dehra assembly constituency of district Kangra, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced exciting new developments for the area. One of the most significant projects is the creation of an International standard Zoological park in Bankhandi, Dehra. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 300 crore and is expected to be completed within three years, providing employment opportunities for 5000 local youths.

CM said that the government is also focusing on promoting adventure tourism at Pong Lake, allocating Rs. 70 crore for the purpose. Plans include the introduction of hot air balloon activities and the construction of a floating hotel. The state government is also supporting the youth by providing financial assistance to buy Shikaras, aiming to create employment opportunities in the area.

In addition to these exciting developments, the Chief Minister announced the operation of five new bus routes in the area and the construction of an indoor stadium with a swimming pool in the Dehra assembly constituency.

CM said, “To improve education in rural areas, Rajiv Gandhi day-boarding schools will be constructed in each assembly constituency, with pre-nursery and nursery wings in the first phase and one shall be set up in the Dehra assembly segment. The government is also taking steps towards providing employment to the youth, with approval given to fill the posts of about 6000 teachers in the education department.”

MLA Hoshiar Singh expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for dedicating and announcing developmental schemes for Dehra. He noted that this was the first time in 15 years that the Chief Minister of the state had visited Haripur, and there was a lot of enthusiasm among the people of the area. Congress leader Dr. Rajesh Sharma also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for visiting Dehra assembly constituency and providing an International level Zoological Park. These developments are sure to bring new opportunities and excitement to the area. Dr. Rajesh Sharma said that the present State Government is developing Kangra district as tourism capital, which would boost tourism in the entire region.

Earlier, the Chief Minister was accorded a grand welcome by the people at various places from Sapdi helipad to Haripur.
