Youth duped of Rs 39 lakh for sending him to USA, accused held, sent on 3 days police remand

KAITHAL: While investigating the case of duping a youth of Rs 39 lakh in the name of sending him to America, the team of ASI Praveen Kumar of Sadar police station arrested the accused Surajmal alias Surju, resident of village Kamalwala district Fatehabad.

Police spokesperson said that according to the complaint of Suresh, resident of village Guhna, his son Manish was interested in going abroad. His neighbor Shiv Kumar told that his maternal uncle's son Surajmal, resident of village Kamalwala district Fatehabad, sends youth abroad. He took Shiv Kumar with him and went to Tohana met Suraj in his office on 15 December 2022. There they found Surju and Jagmohan, resident of Baliala district Fatehabad. According to Suresh, the accused told that after getting the visa, leave the passport and details of the contract agent with the family members so that they can get the US visa for his son and would take Rs 45 lakh.

They will be responsible for entry into America. After that he came to his home. Later, the accused Surju and Jagmohan, along with Mandeep, resident of Samain and Anil, resident of Kaldi, came to his house and took Rs 39 lakh from him at different times. On 15 February 2023, the accused sent him to Dubai. Later shipped to Azerbaijan in March 2023. After that, he was sent to Kazakhstan and from there to Türkiye in April. When his son did not get any further visa, he spoke to the agent. The accused said that they will get the US visa soon. Later he also stopped picking up the phone. His son returned to India from Turkey on 27 April 2023 through another agent. After that, when he asked the accused for his Rs 39 lakh back, the accused flatly refused to give the money. When he repeatedly asked for money, the accused threatened to kill him. Regarding which a case was registered in Sadar police station. The accused was produced in the court on Saturday, from where police remand of the accused was obtained for 3 days for further investigation.
