DHARAMSALA: In a press statement issued from Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state media co-in-charge and former media coordinator for the Chief Minister, Advocate Vishwa Chakshu, , highlighted the severe water crisis plaguing the state. Chakshu criticized the current state government, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, for failing to address the growing problem effectively.

Chakshu detailed the dire situation, noting that in many areas of the state capital, Shimla, residents receive water only once every four to five days. The crisis is reportedly even worse in other parts of the state. He accused the Sukhu government of not taking serious measures to alleviate the water shortage.

"The tourist season is in full swing, bringing a large influx of visitors, which significantly increases water consumption in hotels, " Chakshu pointed out. "The government must recognize that water is a constant necessity for everyone."

Chakshu stressed that it is well-known that water consumption rises during the summer months, and special provisions should have been made in anticipation. "No effective planning was done by the government to address this predictable issue, and now we are facing the consequences."

He urged the state government to fulfill its responsibilities and ensure that residents have access to essential facilities like water. "The people of Himachal Pradesh should not be left to suffer due to the government's inaction, " Chakshu concluded.
