Haryana identifies five sectors to boost MSMEs

CHANDIGARH: In continuance to Haryana Government’s efforts to enhance the
capabilities and capacities of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector, the
State Government has identified five major sectors. The state government has decided to
come out with specific policies for these sectors so as to establish Haryana as a leading state
in the country in the identified focus areas.
The five areas identified include Aerospace and Defence, Toy Industry, Services Sector,
Construction Industry and Industrial Infrastructure which will be given boost. Aerospace and
Defence, as well as Toys Manufacturing, are focus sectors currently for the nation.
Sharing more information, an official spokesperson said that State Government’s
decision to formulate specific policies for these sectors have been taken to give a major boost
to these five sectors as MSME sector holds prominence in the overall developmental agenda
of the government to advance the socio-economic development in the state.
The Incentives and schemes launched through specific policies will not only address
the needs of these sectors in the state but will also help Haryana to establish itself as a leader
state in the country in the identified focus areas, said the spokesperson.
While Haryana’s well-recognized manufacturing proficiency and state-of-the-art
infrastructure in globally competitive automobile and engineering sector can help in meeting
India’s critical need to be self-reliant in the sector, the country under the ‘Atmanirbhar
Bharat’ initiative has been focusing on strengthening of indigenous toys manufacturing
industry.
Also, Services Sector and Construction Industry hold special prominence in the
economy of the state and have the potential to become growth engine for creation of
livelihood opportunities at the grassroot level, said the spokesman.
He said that to further, to achieve the vision of MSME development in the state,
Industrial Parks are required to be created to not only reduce the cost of doing business for
MSMEs but also to provide facilities at doorstep to foster entrepreneurship. Hence
considering the significance of the five focus areas in today’s scenario, State Government has
decided to come out with specific policies.
