AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, has strongly condemned the violation of etiquette by the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, nominated by the Haryana government, at the historic Gurdwaras of Ambala, Sri Manji Sahib and Sri Panjokhara Sahib.

He said that it has been brought to the attention of the Sangat of Haryana that the police, who were called to stop the farmers who are struggling for their demands on the Shambhu border, have been given accommodation in the inns of these Guru Ghars. Complaints have been received from the Sangat that the police officers have consumed alcohol, tobacco etc. drugs inside the taverns, which have also been recovered from the spot.

Advocate Dhami said that the fear of the Shiromani Committee and the Sangat is proving to be correct and the government is violating the sacred rites by influencing the nominated committee and doing arbitrary things inside the Guru Houses.
He said that when the Haryana Gurdwara Committee was being forced by the government to break up the Shiromani Committee, then the Sikh community had protested in view of the possibility of similar arbitrary actions.

He said that the feelings of the Sikh world have been greatly hurt due to the government committee's fencing of the police inside the Guru houses and the use of alcohol and tobacco in the taverns by the police.

Advocate Dhami said that the Sikh community has always been struggling to make the Guru Ghars free from government interference and if the Gurdwara Committees start violating them, who will protect the rules.
Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has appealed to Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to take strict notice of these incidents.
