Woman among fourteen booked for assaulting Union activists, using caste remarks

LOHIAN:The Lohian Khas police have booked fourteen persons including a woman on the charge of assaulting Union activists and using caste remarks against them.The investigating officer (IO) Avtar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Tarsem Singh , his wife Charan Kaur , Baggu , Balkar Singh , Balkar Singh son of Nariann Singh , Baggu son of Ranndhir Singh , Kala, Paramjit Singh, Malkit Singh, Surjit Singh Raja, Karnail Singh and Daljit Singh all residents of Sardarwala village ..

Gurcharan Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that he and thirteen family members were staging a dharna on 11 kanals 16 Marlas common land by hoisting Pendu Mazdoor Union flags in village on Sunday when the accused assaulted them and used caste remarks against them.

IO said that a case under sections 323, (voluntarily causing hurt) 341 (wrongful restrain ) 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC and sections 3(1) (II) of the SC/ST Act has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made so for while the raids are being conducted to nab absconding accused.
